SURFACE TRANSPORTATION BOARD

Surface Transportation Board Chairman Martin Oberman, Vice Chairman Michelle Schultz, and Board Member Patrick Fuchs recently visited a LyondellBasell petrochemical plant in Morris, Illinois to view operations and observe the facility’s important partnership with freight railroads.  The visit included a site tour and a discussion of operations and the plant’s reliance on freight rail.

LyondellBasell’s Morris facility is one of the largest petrochemical manufacturers in the area, located 60 miles outside of Chicago.  Chairman Oberman, Vice Chairman Schultz, and Board Member Fuchs appreciate the opportunity to have seen first-hand LyondellBasell’s operations and to become more closely acquainted with the role that freight rail service plays in supporting those operations and connecting the Morris facility to the nation’s supply chain.
