PUBLIC ADVISORY: SURFACE TRANSPORTATION BOARD OPERATIONS IN EVENT OF FEDERAL GOVERNMENTAL SHUTDOWN
The Surface Transportation Board today announced the following in the event of a lapse of appropriations causing the federal government to shut down its operations.
For the duration of the governmental shutdown, all Board operations will be suspended. The STB will not:
--Accept or process filings or tariffs, by any delivery method (mail, electronic filing, or hand delivery);
---Receive or acknowledge general or electronic mail;
--Process cases;
--Issue decisions; or
--Accept recordations.
All deadlines requiring the submission of material to the Board during the pendency of the shutdown are tolled. If you believe you have an emergency situation requiring immediate Board action (e.g., emergency service orders), call 202-245-0245 and leave a message.
Additionally, the Board's website and email will be unattended for the duration of the governmental shutdown.
