Public Advisory Regarding Materials Previously Due to the Surface Transportation Board During Recent Lapse in Appropriations

The Surface Transportation Board (STB or Board) today announced that it has issued a decision providing notice that materials that were due to be submitted to the Board during the recent lapse in appropriations are now due no later than November 20, 2025, unless otherwise ordered by the Board.  This includes pleadings, filings, comments (including environmental comments), and any other material that was due to be submitted to the Board between October 1, 2025, and November 12, 2025.

As discussed in today’s decision, if any party to a proceeding believes that further modification to a specific procedural schedule is necessary, the party should request an extension in the specific docket.  Any materials submitted during the lapse should not be resubmitted, and will be considered filed on November 13, 2025, provided filing requirements have been met.

The STB has resumed all agency functions.
