On August 3, 2026, the Surface Transportation Board sent a letter to the Belt Railway of Chicago (BRC) expressing concern with recent car volumes and dwell times at BRC’s Clearing Yard.  This letter requested that BRC provide the Board with an update and outlook on BRC’s operations, including weekly reporting of certain metrics related to Clearing Yard.  This page provides that data reporting.

On August 11, 2026, BRC submitted data covering July 31, 2026 to August 6, 2026.  Pursuant to discussions with STB staff, BRC reporting then shifted to a Wednesday reporting date, with August 19, 2026 data covering three weeks:  July 27, 2026 to August 2, 2026; August 3, 2026 to August 9, 2026; and August 10, 2026 to August 16, 2026.
