Roger Nober

Chairman Roger Nober Former Chairman Roger Nober, a Republican from Maryland, was the Board’s second Chairman and sixth Board Member.  He was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on November 14, 2002, and appointed as Chairman by President George W. Bush on November 26, 2002.  He departed on January 4, 2006.

Prior to joining the Board, Chairman Nober was the Counselor to the Deputy Secretary of Transportation, where he advised the Secretary and the Deputy Secretary on significant issues before the Department.  From 1997-2001, he served as Chief Counsel for the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure of the U.S. House of Representatives.  From 1993-1997, Chairman Nober served in a variety of positions on the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.

Before joining the Transportation Committee, Chairman Nober was associated with the New York City law firm of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom.  Chairman Nober received his B.A. degree in 1986 from Haverford College, and his J.D. in 1989 from Harvard Law School.
