The Board announced that its staff will reconvene the technical conference held on December 18, 2020, concerning a new approach its Office of Economics has developed for possible use in considering class exemption and revocation issues. The technical conference will resume virtually via Zoom on January 15, 2021, at 10:00 AM ET.
The technical conference is being reconvened in response to a letter filed by the Association of American Railroads (AAR) on December 23, 2020. The letter requested that the Board staff either respond in writing to participants’ specific questions submitted in advance of the December 18 technical conference or reconvene the technical conference in order for Board staff to respond to the previously submitted questions and allow participants to ask follow-up questions in real time.
Because the technical conference will be reconvened, the Board will provide additional time for interested parties to file comments and replies on the proposed approach. Comments will be due January 29, 2021, and replies will be due March 1, 2021.
Registration is available on the Board’s website here. Participants must register by January 13, 2021, and will be asked to provide their name, organization, and position. Registrations will be accepted on a space-available basis.
Notice of this technical conference in Review of Commodity, Boxcar, & TOFC/COFC Exemptions, Docket No. EP 704 (Sub-No. 1), may be viewed and downloaded here.
