STB Extends Public Comment Period for CP/KCS Merger Draft Environmental Impact Statement

The Surface Transportation Board’s Office of Environmental Analysis (OEA) today issued a notice extending the deadline for public comments on the Draft Environmental Impact Statement for the proposed acquisition of Kansas City Southern by Canadian Pacific.

In response to a request from affected communities for additional time to provide comments, OEA has extended the public comment period to October 14, 2022.  Public comments were originally due on September 26, 2022.

The Notice, in Canadian Pacific Railway Limited; Canadian Pacific Railway Company; Soo Line Railroad Company; Central Maine & Quebec Railway US Inc.; Dakota, Minnesota & Eastern Railroad Corporation; and Delaware & Hudson Railway Company, Inc.—Control—Kansas City Southern; The Kansas City Southern Railway Company; Gateway Eastern Railway Company; and The Texas Mexican Railway Company, Docket No. FD 36500, may be viewed and downloaded here.
